Mulder has helped her club team, Delta Valley, to the national championships this summer.

May 16, 2003

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Charlotte head volleyball coach Lisa Marston announced today that Lynae Mulder has signed a national letter of intent to play for the 49ers this fall. She is the third signee for this upcoming season, joining Millcent Martin and Jessica Oldenburg, who signed during the early signing period.

Mulder joins the team as a 6-1 middle blocker from Ripon, Calif. She she plays for Delta Valley Volleyball Club, one of the top clubs on the West Coast. Her team has already qualified for nationals, which will be held in July.

"Lynae is a very athletic and versatile player," Marston said. "She has been training on the outside, but her natural position is in the middle, where her lateral quickness and offense off of one foot will shine. We're excited to have Lynae, not only because she affords us some depth in the middle, but also because she is a fun, outgoing, hardworking person. She will be a wonderful addition to the 49er family."

Last season, Charlotte finished the year 18-15, 7-6 in Conference USA to post their first winning season since 1994. It is the fourth year in a row that the 49ers' win total has surpassed the previous season's, including the last three with Marston as coach.
