Charlotte 49ers To Hold Memorial Service For Miller On Monday

The service will begin at 3:30 p.m. in the third-floor salons of the Barnhardt Student Activity Center.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte 49ers athletics department will hold a memorial service for volleyball player Danielle Miller, next Monday March 22. The service will begin at 3:30 p.m. in the third-floor salons of the Barnhardt Student Activity Center. It is open to the entire campus community.

Miller, a sophomore from Woodstock, Ill., was killed in an auto accident last Friday in Florida. She was on vacation for spring break. Two of her teammates, Holly Kreyling and Millicent Martin, were also involved in the accident. Kreyling walked away from the accident and Martin was transported to a nearby hospital, where she has since been released.

Miller joined the team as a walk-on prior to the 2002 season. She saw action in 23 matches as a freshman, dropping in 10 service aces. Last season, she moved to the libero position. As a sophomore, she played in 31 matches. Her 284 digs ranked third on the team.
