CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Britney Hurst knocked down 29 kills to lead Tulane to a 3-1 win over the Charlotte 49ers volleyball team Friday night at Halton Arena. Although the Green Wave prevailed in four games, the match was close as both took teams traded the lead throughout.
Hurst was one of three players with kill totals in double figures for Tulane (16-13, 5-4 C-USA). Deva Fowler and Kim Swafford each had 11 for the Wave. For Charlotte (13-12, 4-4 C-USA), Courtney Burg and Abbey Szlanfucht each had double-doubles. Burg finished the evening with 20 kills and 17 digs, while Szlanfucht added 14 kills and 16 digs.
