Navy Women's Cross Country to Kick Off 2001 Season Friday

The Navy women's cross country team will begin the 2001 season Friday when it competes in the Seagull Invitational at Winter Place Park in Salisbury, Md. The eight-team race begins at 5 p.m.

The Midshipmen were undefeated in last year's six-race dual-meet season. Head Coach Karen Boyle (15th season, 80-12 record) returns five letterwinners from a 2000 season in which Navy defeated American, Army, George Washington, George Mason, Maryland and UMBC.

Navy placed first in its lone previous appearance in the Seagull Invitational, topping both Salisbury State and Wesley (Del.) in the 1998 meet.
