The 2008 season will mark Heidi Mass' third season as a member of the Navy coaching staff.

A four-year letterwinner at Penn State, Mass began her coaching career in 1989 as the head coach for the New Kensington-Arnold School District in Pennsylvania. She soon moved up to the collegiate ranks when she began serving as the head coach at Johns Hopkins from 1993-97.

After several years out of coaching, she returned to the sideline as an assistant coach at Northern High School in Maryland. During her initial season of 2001, the team won the state title.

Mass has also coached with the All-Navy program during multiple summers. She and her husband, Lou, are the parents of three children: son Zane and daughters Shelby and Chandler.
