Women's Swimming to Face Colgate and Lehigh
The Navy women's swimming and diving team will look to snap a two-meet losing streak Saturday when the Midshipmen play host to Patriot League opponents Colgate and Lehigh in Lejeune Hall. The double-dual meet begins at 12 Noon. Navy, 2-3 on the year, has dropped identical 165-135 decisions over the last-two weeks to traditionally-strong George Mason and UMBC. The Patriots won the 2003 Colonial Athletic Association title, while the Retrievers won the Northeast Conference championship last spring. "We have faced some very good teams this fall," said Navy head coach Dick Purdy. "Facing competition such as George Mason and UMBC will only make us stronger as the year goes on." Last weekend at UMBC, Jenn Windstein (So., Lancaster) continued her impressive fall campaign by winning the 500 and 1000 freestyle events, while Sheila Singer (So., Princeton, N.J.) won both diving boards for Navy. Colgate has posted a 2-1 record this season, while Lehigh has yet to compete in a dual meet.
