Women's Swimming & Diving Travels to North Carolina
The Navy women's swimming and diving team will travel to Wilmington, N.C., this weekend for a Saturday afternoon double-dual meet against the College of Charleston and North Carolina-Wilmington.
The Midshipmen enter the weekend with a 7-4 record on the season and are coming off a 155-134 win over Johns Hopkins last Saturday in Baltimore. Navy saw both Tori Throckmorton (Jr., Ann Arbor, Mich.) and Jenn Windstein (So., Lancaster, Pa.) win three events against the Blue Jays. Other individual event winners on the day included senior Allison Moon (Sr., Bradenton, Fla.) in the 50 freestyle, Aubra Thomas (Fr., Pittsburgh, Pa.) in the 100 breaststroke and 200 individual medley and Julie Holland (Fr., Shrewsbury, Mass.) in the 200 backstroke.
"We were very pleased with how we swam last Saturday, especially with it being right after a challenging winter training period," said Navy head coach Dick Purdy. "The league championship is only six weeks away (Feb. 26-28 in Navy's Lejeune Hall), so it is important we maintain our focus and continue improving each day."
The College of Charleston has posted a 3-8 record on the season, while the Seahawks are winless on the year after five meets.
