Meggie Curran was one of 32 women to be named to one of the three NSCAA All-Mid-Atlantic Region teams.

Dec. 27, 2005

MISSION, Kan. - Two-time First-Team All-Patriot League forward Meggie Curran (Silver Spring, Md.) has been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-Mid-Atlantic Region Third Team. A first-time NSCAA All-Mid-Atlantic Region honoree, Curran joined 32 other women to comprise three teams of 11 players. In addition, Curran was also named to the 2005 Soccer Buzz All-Mid-Atlantic Region Third Team. It, too, is her first Soccer Buzz honor.

Curran, who was injury-free for the first time in her collegiate career, led the Midshipmen and Patriot League with 32 points on nine goals and a school-record 14 assists. Her single-season assists mark bettered the previous program record of 11 set by Ty Westinghouse in Navy's first full season of Div. I soccer (1994) and was later matched by the late Stacy Finley in 2003. In addition, it's tied as the fifth-most single-season assists in league history and the most since Army's Holly Pedley finished the 1997 campaign with 15 assists. Curran finished her junior campaign ranked eighth in the nation in assists per game list, averaging 0.70.

Thanks to her 14-assist season, she now owns 27-career assists which is tied for the Navy record alongside Nadia Sheikh (1999-02) and former teammate Stephanie Parker (2001-04). That mark is tied for sixth on the Patriot League leader board.

During the fall of 2005, Curran also became just the fifth player in program history to score 75-career points and is one of only five players to produce 30-plus points in a season (Stacy Finley scored 30-plus points three times and Justine Fisher did it twice).
