Ewers and Fisher were among the 12 players selected to the league's first team. "I'm extremely proud of both Margaret and Justine," said head coach Carin Gabarra. "They've provided this team with tremendous leadership over the last few years. Their play speaks for itself and in turn they have received both recognition and respect from our league's coaches." Ewers, a four-year starter for the Navy defensive unit, has garnered All-Patriot League kudos all four years of her career, including First-Team All-Patriot League recognition three-consecutive years. Fisher has been labeled a success since first stepping into a Navy uniform. As a freshman, she garnered Patriot League Rookie-of-the-Year honors, while last season, she was tabbed the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year. In her junior campaign, she earned her third First-Team All-Patriot League award, thus after leading the Mids in scoring with 31 points on a team-high 12 goals and seven assists. Her 12 goals rank third on the Mids' all-time single-season goals scored chart and her seven assists are sixth on the leader board. She is second on Navy's career list in goals (36), seventh in assists (16) second in scoring (88) and third in shots taken (152). Additionally, she owns three of Navy's top-six single-season goal-scoring records. |
