Navy Men's Cross Country Races to Top-Five Finish at Indiana State Invitational
Links associated with this release: The Navy men's cross country team knocked off several ranked teams en route to a fifth-place finish at the Indiana State Invitational Saturday morning.
"We ran tough today," Navy head coach Al Cantello said. "I am very, very pleased with the way we ran. We did the Naval Academy proud today."
Junior Eric Eckstrand (Jr./Wilmington, Del.) paced Navy's team score of 129 with a seventh-place finish out of 178 runners with a time of 24:44.2. Team captain Aaron Lanzel (Sr./Sugar Grove, Pa.) had a strong day for the Mids, posting a time of 24:51.4 to finish 11th overall.
Also scoring for Navy included Ben Glaser (So./Des Moines, Iowa) who finished 24th with a time of 25:15.5, Ray Driscoll (Sr./Avenel, N.J.) in 40th place with a time of 25:31.8, Daniel Christensen (Sr./Medford, N.J.) in 47th with a time of 25:37.4, Ben Morris (Sr./Annapolis, Md.) in 48th place with a time of 25:37.8 and Rudyard Olmstead (Sr./Monument, Colo.) in 69th place with a time of 26:01.4.
