Navy Cross Country Teams Play Host to Invitationals Saturday
Links associated with this release: The Navy men's and women's cross country teams play host to their lone home invitational of the season Saturday at the USNA Cross Country Course. The men's 6,000-meter Navy Invitational is slated to begin at 11 a.m. followed by the women's Salty Sea Dog Invitational, a 5,000-meter event scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m.
Schools participating in both meets include American, Canisius, The Citadel, Furman, George Mason, George Washington, Loyola (Md.), Maryland, UMBC, Mount St. Mary's, Navy, Robert Morris and VMI.
In addition, Louisville and Virginia Commonwealth will be participating in only the men's meet, while the women's meet will include an appearance by Cleveland State.
The Navy men and women claimed their respective home invitationals last fall. Navy placed eight individuals in the top 10 of the men's race, while seven Navy women placed among the top 20. Former Navy standouts Michael French and Melissa Stock took home their respective titles to pace the Mids.
