Annapolis, Md. - The Navy men's track & field team will compete in the 2005 IC4A Championship this weekend in Princeton, N.J. The meet will begin Friday and last until Sunday with competition spanning all day throughout the weekend.

Navy is coming off a second-place finish at last weekend's 2005 Patriot League Outdoor Championship at Lafayette College in Easton, Pa.

Navy totaled 194 points, while Army won the team title with 226. American rounded out the top three with a third-place score of 74.

Highlighting Navy's weekend was senior Kyle Obrock (Boalsburg, Pa.), who was named the Co-Patriot League Male Field Athlete of the Meet after winning the javelin with a toss of 229'2". Obrock wasn't Navy's lone victory in the throws, as freshman Darryl Hunter (Des Moines, Iowa) won the shot put with a throw of 53'9-3/4". Hunter made it a sweep of league shot put titles as he also won the event at the indoor championship back in February at Lehigh.

Navy's other individual champion on the final day was senior Trevis Rainey (Lee's Summit, Mo.), as he claimed gold in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.97. Navy's 4x400-meter relay team won its event by posting a top time of 3:13.77.

Several midshipmen placed second on Saturday to earn Second-Team All-Patriot League honors. Midshipmen placing second included: Jamar Green (Pineville, La.) in the 200 meters (22.06); freshman William Ricks (Sussex, Va.) in the 400 meters (47.95); freshman Paul Harris (Woodbury, Minn.) in the 800 meters (1:51.87); junior Samuel Spletzer (Cedarburg, Wis.) in the 400 hurdles (54.24); freshman Dante Marshall (Hermitage, Pa.) in the triple jump (47'9-3/4"); and sophomore Stephen White (Marietta, Ga.) in the high jump (6'8-1/2").
