Mids Take Third In Three Events

Philadelphia, Pa. - The Navy men's track and field team finished third in two events and in the top eight in two others in Friday's competition at the Penn Relays at Franklin Field.

The Mids' foursome of Adesina Ekundayo (Sr., Randallstown, Md.) , Marcus Scarborough (So., Columbia, S.C.) , Trevis Rainey (So., Lee's Summit, Mo.) and Travis Rainey (Jr., Lee's Summit, Mo.) set a school-record in the championships of the 110-hurdle shuttle relay with a time of 58.48 to finish third. Navy also finished third in the 4x100 Intrepid Military relay, but did not advance to Saturday's finals. Trey Hines (Fr., Douglasville, Ga.) , Shalimar Brazier (Sr., Detroit, Mich.) , Dave Hunt (Sr., Rochester, N.Y.) and Eric Porter (Sr., Brookeville, Md.) posted a time of 41.86 in the 4x100 relay.

In the field events, Nate Michael (Sr., Pilot Point, Texas) claimed sixth in the Discus Throw Championship with a toss of 53.08 meters (174'2”). Cole Herron (Fr., Sanger, Calif.) finished eighth in Eastern High Jump with a height of 2.00 meters (6'6-3/4”).

The Mids will continue to compete at the Penn Relays on Saturday.
