Lufkin Named Patriot League Men's Field Athlete of the Week for Third-Consecutive Week


Ralph Lufkin has won the Patriot League Men's Field Athlete of the Week three-consecutive times.

Center Valley, Pa. - Navy track & field co-captain Ralph Lufkin (Basking Ridge, N.J.) was named the Patriot League Men's Field Athlete of the Week Tuesday for the third-consecutive week.

Lufkin earned the award after winning the 35-pound weight throw and placing second in the shot put last Saturday versus James Madison in a non-scoring dual-meet. Lufkin has taken home the award all three times it has been handed out by the league this season.

The senior won gold in the weight throw with a toss of 58'4" and finished as the runner-up in the shot put with a throw of 48'1-1/4". Lufkin has won the weight throw in each of Navy's four meets this season. His four wins are tied for most on the team this season.

The Mids will be back in action Friday and Saturday as they compete in the Penn State National Open at University Park, Pa.
