Gon Competes at NCAA Zone Diving Championship

Navy's Casey Gon placed 14th in the one-meter competition at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championship, Friday afternoon at the Alumni Arena Natatorium in Buffalo, N.Y.

Gon, who will now compete in Saturday's three-meter competition, totaled 475.85 points Friday. Penn State's Mike Alderman won the one-meter board with a score of 602.00.

"We rolled the dice a bit on his last dive," said Navy diving coach Joe Suriano. "Casey needed a big score to jump up in the standings, so he attempted a pretty difficult dive and didn't finish it."
