Men's Swimming Loses At Columbia
NEW YORK, N.Y. (Feb. 15, 2003) – Columbia (7-3) took first in 11 of 13 events to defeat Navy (6-6), 150-93, Saturday afternoon at Uris Pool. The Mids got first place finishes from Marshall Boyd, who won the 200 freestyle in a time of 1:42.17, and the 400 freestyle relay team of Terrence Fenningham, Matt James, Boyd and Noah White, who won the relay in a time of 3:06.72. The Mids received second place finishes from Brad Snyder in the 1000 freestyle (9:40.72) and the 500 freestyle (4:44.70), Fenningham in the 50 freestyle (20.93), Casey Gon in the one (298.575) and three-meter diving (284.02), White in the 100 freestyle (46.54), Brian DeMell in the 200 breaststroke (2:10.40) and the 400 Medley Relay team of Mike Linn, DeMell, Fenningham and White (3:28.83). Navy, Columbia and the rest of the Eastern Intercollegiate Swimming League will next be in action in two weeks when the teams compete in the league meet on Long Island, N.Y. |
