Simon Fraser Captures 2004 Women's Cross Country National Championship

Louisville, Ky. Simon Fraser University (B.C.) reclaimed the women's crown for the second straight year at the 2004 NAIA Cross Country National Championships held at E.P. Tom Sawyer Park in Louisville, Kentucky.

 

Simon Fraser won its seventh women's title by beating second place finisher Concordia University (Neb.) 95-129 points. Mirriam Kaumbia of Oklahoma Baptist took home the individual honors for the second straight year with a time of 16:53.70.

 

This year marks the second year that the NAIA Cross Country Championships have been held in Louisville, Kentucky.

 

Simon Fraser's head coach, Brit Townsend was named the 2004 NAIA Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year.

 

The Top 30 finishers in each meet are named All-American.
