Air Force -- Air Force lost to New Mexico in four games last week...Seniors Kristen Hamlett and Rebecca Gallegos led the Falcons with 12 kills apiece...Senior Carly Siefkin posted a double-double with 41 assists and 10 digs, while leading the team with three service aces...Siefken is currently fourth on the AFA Division I single-season assists charts with 1,035 on the season...Hamlett is currently 10th on the Air Force all-time kills list with 1,152 for her career. She also is tied for third on the Div. I solo blocks list (30), fifth in total blocks (90) and eighth in assisted blocks (60).

BYU -- BYU posted a 1-1 record in league play last week, losing to Colorado State in five games and sweeping Wyoming...With their win over the Cowgirls combined with Utah's loss to CSU, the Cougars have clinched at least a share of the regular-season MWC title, their first since 1999...The attendance vs. the Rams was 3,507 which is the fourth-largest crowd in BYU volleyball history...Sophmores Chelsea Goodman (4.27 kpg) and Erica Lott (3.96 kpg) rank 1-2 in the MWC in kills per game...Junior middle blocker Lindsy Hartsock leads the league in hitting percentage (.460) , while senior Lauren Richards Evans leads the conference in assists per game (13.07)...Hartsock currently leads the nation in hitting percentage (.460) and has recorded efficiencies of .500 or better in 14 matches on the season...Evans ranks 23rd in the nation in assists per game (13.07)...As a team the Cougars rank 18th in the nation in hitting percentage (.278).

 

 

Colorado State -- The Rams went 2-0 in MWC play last week, upsetting then-No. 16 BYU and second-place Utah...CSU is the only team in conference history to win at both schools on the same weekend, doing so four straight seasons...Seniors Casey Bauer, Dre Downs and Tess Rogers are the only players on the Rams' roster to be a part of the feat...Junior Katherine Whitney became the first Ram since 2002 to record back-to-back 20 dig matches, tallying 20 at BYU on Friday and a career-high 27 at Utah on Saturday...Tess Rogers tallied a career-high 24 kills vs. the Cougars...She notched double figure kills in both matches, bringing her career total to 90 double-figure kill matches, which ties the school record set by Jill Johnson (1987-90)...As a team, CSU recorded 18.0 blocks vs. the Utes, with nine coming in game four...Nine of Casey Bauer's 21 kills also came in game four.

New Mexico -- New Mexico defeated Air Force in its only match of the week...The win over the Falcons was the 14th of the season for the Lobos, which is their highest win total in head coach Kelley McKee's tenure...Junior Kelly Therkelsen and senior Nicole Ryan put down a match-high 12 kills apiece...Freshman Sarah Kwasigroch hit a team-best .300 (3K-0E-10TA) while dishing out a team-high 41 assists, slipping in a match-high four aces and a team-high five blocks...Therkelsen was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic District VI second team last week.

San Diego State -- The Aztecs went 1-1 in MWC play last week, losing to UNLV and beating TCU...The Rebels outhit the Aztecs .289-.162, despite three SDSU players tallying double-figure kills...Junior Melanie Greene recorded her conference-best 13th double-double of the season vs. TCU, with 10 kills and 10 digs...Sophomore Aime Cordeiro tallied 21 digs last week and currently has 416 on the season which ranks fourth on the SDSU single-season dig chart...She continues to lead the MWC in digs with an average of 4.67 per game in all matches and 4.53 in MWC play.

TCU -- TCU went 0-2 in MWC play last week...Freshman Pamela Gehrke and junior Skye Tacker combined for 16 of the Frogs 32 digs vs. the Aztecs...Sophomore Talaya Whitfield recorded 26 digs vs. the Rebels for her fifth 20-plus dig performance of the season...Freshman Nirelle Hampton recorded 49 assists on the week and currently sits at 1,100 for her career which is fourth all-time in the TCU record books...Junior Anna Vaughn is currently second in the conference in service aces per game (0.48), fourth in kills per game (3.82), fifth in hitting percentage (.303) and 10th in blocks per game (1.06).

UNLV -- UNLV went 2-0 in conference play last week, beating San Diego State and TCU in four games...The Rebels' 10 wins in MWC play are the most for a UNLV squad since the league was formed in 1999...Their five road victories are the most in conference play in school history, and their six road victories overall are good for the second most in the program's history...Sophomore Jada Walker surpassed her own UNLV single-season record for digs last weekend...Walker currently has 421 digs on the season compared to her 418 in 2004...Her 839 career digs is first on the Rebel career digs charts...Junior Lauren Miramontes and sophomore Maria Aladjova are each tied for eighth place in the UNLV record book with 659 career kills...Aladjova and Miramontes are sixth (1,686) and seventh (1,635), respectively, in total attempts.

Utah -- Utah posted a 1-1 record in MWC play last week, defeating Wyoming before falling to Colorado State...Sophomore Whitney Webb led the Utes with 3.62 kills on .361 hitting over the weekend...She also talllied 1.0 blocks and 1.50 digs per game and turned in her first career double-double with 13 kills and 11 digs vs. Wyoming...She also had six total blocks...All three totals vs. the Cowgirls were career highs for Webb...With 27 kills in two matches last week, senior Shelly Sommerfeldt moved into sixth in Utah's career kills record book, raising her total to 1,136...She is 116 kills behind former Ute Sharman Grant for fifth on the all-time list...Middle blockers Lori Baird and Emillie Toone combined for 24 total blocks and accounted for 13 of the 27.5 team blocks last week...Toone led all Utes with 1.86 blocks per game, while Baird collected 1.38 per game...Toone ranks second in the league in blocks per game (1.49), while Baird checks in at fifth (1.31).

Wyoming -- Wyoming lost to Utah and then-No. 16 BYU in conference play last week...Five Cowgirls tallied double-digit kills vs. Utah, but Wyoming as a team was outhit by the Utes .243-.146 for the match...Sophomore Rachel Smith recorded back-to-back double-doubles last weekend, with 17 kills and 12 digs vs. Utah and 19 kills and 12 digs vs. BYU.
