June 18, 2007 FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU women's tennis standouts Ana Cetnik and Anna Sydorska have been named to the 2007 ITA Division I All-Star Team. The doubles tandem was one of only three doubles teams to receive the honor.
Cetnik and Sydorska, who ended the season with TCU's highest doubles finish at No. 3, will attend a special awards luncheon with all-stars from the other collegiate divisions and the ITA National Author Ashe award winners on Saturday, Aug. 25. The duo will also be special guests of the USTA and ITA at this year's U.S. Open Grand Slam event in Flushing Meadows, NY.
The Horned Frog duo put together a record-breaking year in doubles play, compiling a 25-7 mark during the 2006-07 season. The tandem earned All-America honors and advanced to the semifinals of the NCAA Division I Individual Championships for only the second time in school history. Cetnik, a senior from Belgrade, Serbia, set the TCU single season record for doubles wins (35), while Sydorska placed in a tie for second all-time with 34 victories.
