Utes Set For Mountain West Tournament No. 5 seeded women's tennis draws No. 4 New Mexico.
April 23, 2001 SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah women's tennis team (6-12, 3-4 MWC) earned a No. 5 seed in the Mountain West Conference Tournament held in Fort Collins, Colo. April 26-28. Utah's first round match will be against fourth-seeded New Mexico (14-8) Thurs., April 26 at 10 a.m. New Mexico won the regular season meeting in Albuquerque, 7-0, and currently carries a No. 42 ranking. Utah finished the season with two straight wins, beating Wyoming, 6-1, and No. 72 Weber State, 5-2.
Utah will play the second round on Fri., April 27 at 10 a.m., regardless of whether they win or lose.
