UNLV Turns UNM Into Loss Lobos Women's tennis closes out regular season with upset.

SAN DIEGO - The 65th-ranked UNLV women's tennis team closed out its regular-season schedule by upsetting No. 39 New Mexico on the campus of San Diego State Saturday.
The Lady Rebels improved to 9-11 overall and 5-2 in the Mountain West Conference while the Lobos, who were the highest-ranked team to lose to UNLV this year, fell to 13-8 and 4-3.
UNLV, which won its last four league matches, passed UNM in the regular-season standings to finish in third place.
The Lady Rebels began the day by sweeping three doubles matches for one team point for the second consecutive day.
In singles play, UNLV got victories from 87th-ranked Paulina Janus at the top spot, Agnieszka Abram at No. 2, Marianne Bakken at No. 3, Britta Gabl at No. 5 and Amy Hadziosmanovic in the sixth position.
Defending champion UNLV is expected to receive the third seed at the MWC Championships, which are set for April 26-28 in Fort Collins, Colo.
