BYU Clinches 2007 Regular Season Softball Title The Cougars earn the MWC's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
May 11, 2007 COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The BYU Cougars claimed their third regular-season Mountain West Conference softball crown after sweeping UNLV on Thursday, May 10, in Provo, Utah. The two victories over the Rebels earned the Cougars (40-17-0 overall, 15-3-0 MWC) the Mountain West's automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament. Tournament selections will take place on Sunday, May 13, between 1 - 2 p.m. MT on ESPNews. BYU's sweep of UNLV gave the team its third consecutive 40-win season. The Cougars will complete their regular-season competition with a home series vs. San Diego State on Friday, May 11 and Saturday, May 12.
