FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Colorado State will take on Mountain West Conference opponent New Mexico (6-17, 2-8 MWC) at Ram Field on Saturday. The Rams defeated the Lobos twice earlier this season in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Friendly Confines: In Colorado State's first home stand of the season against Utah and BYU, three Rams hit over .450 including sophomore Steph Roberts (.500), freshman Katie Dean (.500), and junior Ricki Walker (.462).

Runnin' Ram: Sophomore Steph Roberts stole her 12th base of the season in game one against BYU on Saturday. This moves Roberts into a tie for fifth place for stolen bases in a season and only two steals away from the fourth spot.

Catch This: Through 35 games this season, the Rams have recorded a team fielding percentage of .975. This ranks tops among Mountain West Conference teams. The Rams' .975 fielding percentage also ranks first in the Colorado State record books.

Ace: Junior Megan Masser ranks in the top five in the MWC in four major categories including first in saves (6), second in conference ERA (1.44), third in conferenceopponent's batting average (.181), and fourth in strikeouts (104). Masser recorded 17 strikeouts in two starts during the Rams' first home stand against Utah and BYU, recording two wins and a save.

Saving Her Season: With six saves Megan Masser now holds the Colorado State record for saves in a season. The previous high was three. Masser also holds the cereer save record at CSU with those six saves, breaking the previous record of five. Both were Held by Nikki Johnson (1995-97).

 

 

Closing the Gap: At the close of the 2002 season, Rams opponents outscored Colorado State by 16 runs. Through 35 games this season, Colorado State has outscored its opponents by 48 runs. 0Winning Record: The 25 wins recorded by the Rams' ranks sixth all-time for most wins in a single season and is the highest since 1998. The team is only five wins away from tying for fifth and only eight away from moving into a tie for third. Colorado State has assured itself of the ninth winning record since the program began in 1976.

A Fast Start: There have been five Rams that have started all 35 games. Steph Roberts, Kerry Farrell, Ricki Walker, Jennifer Mahoney and Brittany Burtner have started every game so far this year.

Shutouts: The Rams have recorded 11 shutouts this season. This is four more than all of last season and ranks this year's team fifth all-time in the Colorado State record books.

In The Park: Colorado State pitchers have allowed only three home runs this season. This ranks the Rams' pitching staff first in the Mountain West Conference in that category.

Roberts' Runs: Colorado State's record when lead-off hitter Steph Roberts scores at least one run is 17-2. The team's only two losses came against Mississippi State and at San Diego State.

Streaking: Roberts is currently on a six game hitting streak in conference play. Her longest of the season spanned nine games.

A Lot Of HIts: Against Utah on Friday, the Rams recorded 26 hits in the two games -- 13 in each -- to tally the highest hit total in a doubleheader this year. The previous high was 25 against Northern Colorado (14, 11).
