New Mexico Travels to NMSU Golf Intercollegiate Lobos enter tournament ranked No. 6 by GolfWeek Magazine.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The University of New Mexico women's golf team will travel to Las Cruces, N.M. and the NMSU Women's Golf Intercollegiate, Oct. 7-9. The tournament will be played at the NMSU Golf Course. This will be New Mexico's second tournament of the season. Format: The tournament consists of 18 holes each day. Start times for the three-day event begin at 8:30 a.m. on Monday and Tuesday and 8 a.m. on Wednesday. Tournament Field: There will be 20 teams participating in the NMSU Invite including: Arkansas-Little Rock, Arkansas State, Baylor, Louisville, Michigan State, Nebraska, New Mexico, New Mexico State, New Orleans, North Texas, Northern Arizona, Oklahoma, San Diego State, San Jose State, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas Christian, Texas Tech, UNLV, UTEP, Western New Mexico. Lobo Lineup: The UNM lineup for the NMSU Invite is as follows: Kailin Downs, Shannon Johnson, Katrina Leckovic, Christina Spence, Kellyn Newman. New Mexico in the Rankings: In the latest poll released on Sept. 30 the New Mexico Lobos are ranked No. 6 by GolfWeek Magazine. UNM was ranked No. 26 in the preseason poll.
In individual rankings four Lobos are ranked in the top-100 including sophomore Kailin Downs who ranks the highest at No. 19. Sophomore Shannon Johnson follows at No. 47, junior Katrina Leckovic is No. 53 and sophomore Christina Spence is ranked No. 65.
