2001 MWC Women's Golf All-Conference Team Announced At Championship BYU's Summerhays named Player of the Year.

SUNRIVER, Ore. - The Mountain West Conference announced its all-conference team and individual awards at the conclusion of its women's golf championship today at Sunriver Resort in Sunriver, Ore. BYU junior Carrie Summerhays was named Player of the Year, while Kristi Larsen of New Mexico was selected the Freshman of the Year in a vote by the leagues' head coaches. Summerhays collects her second straight MWC Player of the Year honors after being named co-Player of the Year in 2000. Coach of the honors went to Jackie Booth of New Mexico. Overall, three seniors, one junior, sophomore and freshman made up the all-conference team. New Mexico was the only institution that had more one student-athlete on the all-conference team with seniors Elisa Kase and Ryley Webb and freshman Kristi Larsen. BYU's Summerhays, Colorado State sophomore Mayumi Motoyama and San Diego State senior Jo Clingan completed the all-league selections.
