Rams finish Fourth at Mountain View Collegiate

The Colorado State women's golf team fired a three-round 882 (+18) to finish fourth at the Mountain View Collegiate in Tucson, Ariz.

The Colorado State women's golf team fired a three-round 882 (+18) to finish fourth at the Mountain View Collegiate in Tucson, Ariz. The Rams entered the final round three strokes behind third-place Missouri, but were only able to finish one stroke out of third. Northwestern ran away with the tournament with an 870 (+6) victory.

Trisha Quick led the Rams with a three-under 213 for the tournament. She finished in fifth place, four strokes behind champion Mehan Little of Louisville. Trisha fired the Rams' best round of the tournament, a first-round two-under 70.

Lynette Duran finished tied for 12th with a three-over 219. Kristen Campos tied for 30th with a 223 (+7), while Chelsea Benton and Margaret Garehime rounded out the Rams' scoring with 228 (+12) and a 232 (+16), respectively.

The Rams compete next April 4th and 5th at the BYU Dixie Classic in St. George, Utah

Ram seniors have competed at the BYU Dixie Classic each of the last three years. In 2002, the team finished tied for eighth with a 926 (+62). Lynette Duran led the team with a 13th place tie with a 228 (+12). In 2003, the team fired a 938 (+74) to finish in 13th place. Lynette Duran again led the Rams with a 231 (+15), tied for 24th place. In 2004, the Rams finished in 5th with a 929 (+65). Trisha Quick and Lynette Duran tied for 22nd with scores of 232 (+16)

The BYU Dixie Classic wraps up the Rams' regular season schedule.

Noteworthy...
Trisha Quick's first-round 70 was her lowest score of the season and second- lowest of her collegiate career, behind an opening round 68 at the 2003 Las Vegas Founders Collegiate.

After being passed last week by Kristen Campos as the Rams' scoring average leader, Trisha Quick regained the scoring average lead by shooting ten strokes better than Kristen at the Mountain View.
