Team-By-Team Notes Ranked No. 53 in the nation, BYU finished the regular-season 10-9 overall including a 3-3 mark against Mtn. West teams and a 2-7 slate against ranked foes. Two Cougar doubles teams continue to rank among the nation¹s best Damien Ward and Gert Vilms, who have shared No. 1 singles duties, are No. 13, while Nic Losee and Carlos Lozano are No. 46 despite no longer being active as a team. New Mexico registered an 8-13 overall mark during the regular-season and went 2-2 against conference teams. The Lobos were 2-11 against nationally ranked teams. Matt Amgwerd has ranked among the nation¹s best all season and is currently No. 18 in singles with a 34-7 overall singles record. Amgwerd pairs with Nic Dubey as the No. 26 ranked doubles team in the nation. Listed No. 27 in the Apr. 19 rankings, San Diego State has won eight straight matches and finished the regular-season 14-6 overall. SDSU went 3-6 against ranked teams and 3-1 against conference opponents. The Aztec¹s posted a top-10 win over then-No. 9 Baylor and lost at No. 1 UCLA and No. 7 Pepperdine. Two Aztecs are listed in the national singles rankings as of Apr. 12 Alex Waske is No. 29 and Oliver Maiberger is No. 72. Waske is a three time conference player of the week honoree and went 11-1 in the No. 1 singles slot and 9-1 at No. 1 doubles. Twice selected Mtn. West Player of the Week, Maiberger finished 20-0 in duals - including a 12-0 mark at No. 2. UNLV went 7-12 in dual matches, including a 3-11 mark against teams ranked at match time. Included in the Rebels losses were then No. 1-UCLA, No. 5 Illinois and No. 10 Pepperdine. The Rebels were 3-2 against Mtn. West teams. Junior Danny Erez leads the squad with a 13-7 singles record and a 7-11 doubles slate. The Rebels ranked as high as No. 49 before falling out of the rankings in March for the first time since 1995. UNLV reappeared at No. 73 on Apr. 5 and tied for No. 75 on Apr. 12 before falling out in the latest listing. Utah finished the regular-season 8-13 overall, including a 2-3 mark against conference teams. The Utes went 2-13 against ranked opponents, with wins over No. 50 BYU and No. 52 UC Irvine. Top-5 losses include then-No. 5 Pepperdine and No. 4 Stanford. Utah was tied for No. 75 in the nation in the Apr. 12 rankings.
