Kowalski Collects MWC Accolades David Kowalski named MWC Men's Tennis Player of the Week.
Jan. 29, 2004 COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - New Mexico junior David Kowalski has been named Mountain West Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week after posting a singles and doubles victory against Northern Arizona last weekend. This is his second career player of the week accolade.
Kowalski, a Carlsbad, N.M., native, started the match teaming with Ryan Stotland (No. 37 tandem in the nation) to defeat Thibault Schram and Lew DeLeon at No. 1 doubles, 9-8 (3). At No. 2 singles, the 72nd-ranked Kowalkski easily defeated Jeremy Coll (6-2, 6-0) to complete the sweep.
