Utah Golf in Seventh at MWC Championships

Garrett Clegg in ninth with first round three-under

SUNRIVER, Ore. - The University of Utah men's golf team completed the first round at the 2003 Mountain West Conference Championships on Thursday. The Utes as a team shot a two-over-par, 290. Leading the way for the team was Garrett Clegg in ninth place with a first round three-under, 69.

Steve Newren is in 21st after his first round one-over, 73. Luke Swilor and Carl Jensen are tied for 24th at two-over and Casey Fowles is in 34th with his first round five-over, 77.

New Mexico is in first place with a team score of 12-under, 276. The second round will tee off on Friday morning at the Crosswater Golf Club.
