Davalos' Hard Sell Gets Lobos To Vegas

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - A persuasive pitch from University of New Mexico athletic director Rudy Davalos was a primary reason that the Las Vegas Bowl extended an invitation to the Lobos, bowl executive director Tina Kunzer-Murphy said.

"We really needed to have a wonderful working relationship and I've gotten that from the administration at New Mexico," Kunzer-Murphy said after UNM accepted the Las Vegas Bowl invitation on Monday afternoon. "(The Lobos) are excited to come here and (Davalos) has stepped up and made a commitment to us.

"We're going to count on Rudy Davalos and his wonderful staff down there to assist us in promoting the game."
