ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The University of New Mexico baseball team (18-28, 7-14 Mountain West Conference) travels to Salt Lake City, Utah, this weekend for a three-game series against the Utah Utes. First pitch on Thursday and Friday is scheduled for 5 p.m. (MDT) at Franklin-Covey Field. Saturday¹s game is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. (MDT). The Lobos are on the road for six if their final nine regular-season games, before the Mountain West Conference Tournament commences May 22-25 in Provo, Utah.

UNM is in the midst of a stretch which has seen it lose 15 of its last 18 games. The Lobos are just 2-13 in the last five weeks in conference play, following a 5-1 start, which saw them in first place after two weeks. In Utah, UNM will attempt to end a 15-game road losing streak, second longest in school history. The school record is 18 straight road losses, from 1949-52. The Lobos have had good luck against the Utes this season. UNM swept a three-game series from Utah Mar. 15-17, and outscored them 46-32 in the process.

UNM is coming off a week in which it went 1-2 against UNLV at home. The Lobos won the series opener, then dropped the final two games of the weekend. Utah was 2-1 last week, taking a series at league-leading San Diego State. The Utes swept a doubleheader on Saturday before dropping the finale on Sunday. UNM is currently in sixth place in the conference standings, nine games behind the front-running Aztecs. Utah is in second place, and trails SDSU by five games.
