CSU's Berryhill and BYU's Northcutt Named MWC Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, Respectively Both student-athletes garner honor for first time this season.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado State senior Bryan Berryhill and BYU senior Tara Northcutt were named Mountain West Conference Male and Female Track Athletes of the Week, respectively. Berryhill, a native of Central Point, Ore. (Crater HS), clocked this season's fastest time in the nation in the 1,500 meters last week at the prestigious Stanford Invitational with a time of 3-minutes, 39.08-seconds. His time is the only NCAA automatic qualifying mark recorded this season. A nine-time All-American, Berryhill set the MWC outdoor record in the 1,500 meters last year with a time of 3:40.37. Northcutt, of Provo, Utah (Provo HS), placed first among collegiate athletes and third overall in the 10,000 meters last week at the Stanford Invitational. She beat the NCAA automatic qualifying mark (34:10) by more than 40 seconds with her time of 33:27.59. Northcutt, who has the best time in the 10,000 meters in the MWC this season, missed the conference record in the event by just over six seconds.
