Utah's Jameson and BYU's Bolm Named Mtn. West Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week Jameson captures first in 800-Meters, while Bolm records the second fastest time in the nation. (2/15)
Feb. 15, 2000 COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Utah sophomore Teren Jameson and BYU senior Kirsten Bolm were named Mountain West Conference Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for their performances last weekend. Competing at the Weber State Invitational in Ogden, Utah, Jameson captured first-place in the 800-meter dash with a time of 1:53.97. This was the first time in his career he has competed in the 800-meter and his time currently ranks fourth in the Mountain West Conference this season. This is Jameson's second indoor win of the season. He captured first in the 1,600 meters at the Wilson Motor Invite on Jan. 29 with a time of 4:20.15. He also ranks third in the league this year in the Mile Run with a time of 4:09.34. A native of Schessel, Germany, Bolm ran a time of 8.13 in the 60-Meter Hurdles at the Husker Invitational in Lincoln, Neb. The time is not only a new career- and conference-best mark, but also ranks second in the nation this season. Bolm is the first Cougar sprinter to automatically qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships this year.
