Men's Swimmer and Diver of the Week Utah's Cody Rempfer and BYU's Scott Randall honored
Nov. 17, 2004 COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Utah senior Cody Rempfer and BYU senior Scott Randall have been named Mountain West Conference Men's Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively. Randall is a two-time award winner this season, while Rempfer notched his first award of the year. A native of Lodi, Calif., Rempfer helped the Utes to their first win of the year after competing in six events last week vs. Denver, including victories in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:04.82) and the 200-yard butterfly (1:49.46). He outdistanced second place by more than five seconds in each event. He also competed on first-place relay teams in the 400-yard medley (3:24.22), the 200-yard freestyle (1:25.05) and 200-yard medley (1:32.45), and placed second as part of the 400-yard free relay (3:08.93). Randall, from Mesa, Ariz., won the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events for the second straight week with scores of 299.45 and 298.20, respectively, helping the Cougars defeat UNLV.
