Colorado State's Schneider And Air Force's Law Earn MWC Women's Swimmer And Diver of the Week Accolades Law garners honor for eighth time in her career.
Oct. 24, 2001 COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado State sophomore Kristen Schneider and Air Force junior Sarah Law have been named Mountain West Conference women's swimmer and diver of the week, respectively. Schneider won five of the six events she competed in at the Colorado State Early Bird Invitational last weekend in Fort Collins. Schneider placed first individually in the 100-yard backstroke (58.59), the 200-yard backstroke (2:06.92) and the 200-yard IM (2:07.90). She also had a third-place finish in the 200-yard freestlye. The native Canadian also helped the Ram 200-yard medley and 400-yard medley relay teams to first place finishes in 1:49.69 and 3:55.96, respectively. Law captured her eighth career Diver of the Week award with her first place finishes in both the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard at the Early Bird Invite. She won the 1-meter event with a score of 260.20, finishing 27 points ahead of the second place finisher, and compiled a score of 228.40 on her way to winning the 3-meter. Colorado State and the Air Force Academy will face each other in a dual meet on Friday, Oct. 26 in Colorado Springs. The Falcons complete their week by hosting Metro State on Saturday, Oct. 27 and Colorado School of Mines on Sunday, Oct. 28.
This week in the MWC: Utah travels to Corvallis, Ore. to face Oregon State on Friday, Oct. 26 and New Mexico will take on Northern Arizona on Saturday, Oct. 27 in Flagstaff, Ariz.
