March 25, 2006
ATLANTA - Junior Chris Knaute capped off a stellar weekend at the NCAA Men's Swimming & Diving Championships by taking 20th place in the 1650 yard freestyle Saturday evening at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center.
Knaute swam a time of 15:11.98 which was just two seconds off his career best time. His 9:11.98 split at the 1000 yard mark beat his career best mark in the 1000 by four seconds.
Knaute claimed two honorable mention All-America honors earlier in the week by taking 13th in the 500 free on Thursday and 11th place in the 400 individual medley on Friday. Both his 500 free (4:20.00) and 400 IM (3:48.98) times were new school and conference records.
