Full-time temporary position anticipated to end on or before June 30, 2006, with possibility for reappointment and/or permanency.

SALARY: $2,617 - $3,401 mo. Commensurate with experience, knowledge, and skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Director of Ticket Sales will cultivate new relationships to ensure attendance growth at athletic events. Manage and maintain existing accounts on an annual basis. Establish strong relationships throughout partner companies, especially at senior management levels. Develop written proposals for current or new business prospects. Design proposals using a consultant sales style. Assist with fulfillment of sponsorship agreements for all Athletic Department sponsorship contracts. Work directly with the Ticket Office, Corporate Sales, and Marketing to ensure efficiency in the sales process.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Knowledge of sports marketing, sales acumen, and collegiate athletics. Knowledge of the principles and practices of sales and marketing. Knowledge of regional and local television markets for potential expansion plans. Knowledge of affiliate marketing and business advertising. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficient with English grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with standard office software including Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and internet. Strong analytical skills. Ability to manage multiple clients with high degree of detail for advanced planning and against short deadlines. Ability to work successfully with Athletics personnel, SDSU administrative staff, corporate clients, and the business community. Ability to act as the member of a team toward common goals.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Equivalent to a bachelor's degree and a minimum of two years of sales experience with a proven record of success. Experience with television, radio, and print media sales preferred.
