Vanessa Cox enters her second season at the helm of MIT's women's lacrosse program. The 2008 NEWMAC Coach of the Year, she served as the Engineers' interim head coach after a two-year stint as the squad's assistant coach. Cox graduated from the University of Vermont in 2005 with a bachelor's of arts degree in political science. A four-year member of the women's lacrosse team, she finished as the Catamounts' all-time leader in points (173) and goals (133) while placing fourth in assists (40). Cox was a three-time America East All-Conference selection and was picked for the All-Rookie Team in 2002. The following year she received America East Championship All-Tournament Team accolades and capped off her career by being named to the America East Academic Honor Roll. Cox continues to play competitively as a member of the Canadian National Women's Lacrosse Team. |
