OXFORD, Ohio - Senior Andrea Kremer (Indianapolis, Ind./Bishop Chatard) was named to the Mid-American Conference's All-Academic Team the league office announced yesterday. Kremer earned the honor in both track and cross country last season.

Kremer is enjoying a career year, coming off a MAC Championship in her last meet. On Nov. 1, she became the fourth woman to earn individual MAC Cross Country Champion honors, crossing the finish line four seconds of her own school record, in 17:16. The win was her third in a row and fourth overall. In six meets this season, she also has a pair of second-place finishes and has been named the MAC Runner of the Week following each meet.

A mathematics major boasting a 3.73 GPA, Kremer has doubled as the MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Week three times this season. Along with her previous Academic all-MAC honors, she has been named academic all-America by the United States Track Coaches Association (USTCA) following both her sophomore and junior seasons.

The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport. First-year students and junior college transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award.

Kremer and the RedHawks continue their season at the NCAA Regional meet at Indiana State University. The meet, which takes place in Terre Haute, Ind., is set for Nov. 15, and serves as a qualifier to the NCAA Championship meet, Nov. 24, in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
