OXFORD, Ohio - With five athletes competing in two events, the Miami University women's track and field team completed its final day at the SeaRay Relays Saturday. At the Tom Black Track at Laporte Stadium, senior Lindsey Arundel (Rocky River, Ohio) placed 23rd in the shot put with a distance of 43-2 1/4 and the 4x400 meter relay team finished 18th with a season-best time of 3:47.33.

In the shot put, Arundel finished sixth in her flight of throwers, with Keturah Lofton of Ohio State placing first (46-7 1/2). Amarachi Ukabam of Southern Illinois won the event with a toss of 53-6 1/2.

Miami's 4x400 meter relay time of 3:47.33 was good for second in its relay flight, placing behind Vanderbilt (3:45.98). The relay squad of freshman Betsy Allen (Wooster, Ohio), junior Kim Horning (Granville, Ohio), sophomore Andrea Tepe (Cincinnati, Ohio) and senior Taryn Nye (St. Johnsbury, Vt.) finished 18th overall behind race winner World Elite (3:33.23), which ran unattached.

Miami continues its outdoor track and field slate next weekend when it travels to the Southern Ohio Cup April 22 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
