MISSION, KAN. - Metro State, the defending NCAA national champion, is ranked No. 1 in the NSCAA/adidas preseason women's soccer poll, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America announced.

Grand Valley State, which lost to Metro State, 1-0, in last year's title game, is No. 2, followed by West Chester, Tampa and UC San Diego. Metro State is the only RMAC school ranked.

The Roadrunners open the 2007 season at No. 11-ranked West Florida, Aug. 24.
