McQuilliams Scores Game Winner as Roadrunners Defeat Regis, 2-1

DENVER, COLO. -- Madison McQuilliams scored off a Katie Kilbey pass in the 47th minute to lift Metro State past Regis, 2-1, in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference women's soccer match, Friday afternoon at Regis University.

McQuilliams scored just after halftime and the Roadrunners were able to keep Regis out of the net the rest of the way. Shots for the game were even at 10 apiece and Rachel Zollner had seven saves in goal for Metro State.

Becca Mays put the Roadrunners up in the 34th minute, but Cassie Cornett tied the game for the Rangers less than 30 seconds later.

With the win, Metro State improves to 10-3-1 overall, 5-1-1 in the RMAC, while Regis drops to 8-6 overall, 5-3 in conference play. The Roadrunners are at Fort Lewis, Oct. 14.
