Drew Williamson Named First Team all-RMAC

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. - Metro State senior guard Drew Williamson was named first-team all-RMAC and first-team all-East Division, the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced Thursday.

Senior Greg Muth is a second-team all-East Division selection, while Michael Bahl was named honorable mention all-East Division.

Tyrone Shephard of Fort Hays State was named the RMAC Player of the Year, while the Tigers' Jeremy Atwater was named the RMAC Defensive Player of the Year. Mark Johnson, the head coach of Fort Hays State, was named the RMAC Coach of the Year. Colorado School of Mines' Kyle Pape was named the conference's Freshman of the Year.

Shephard, Williamson, Dusty Jura of Nebraska-Kearney, Tim Bieri of Fort Lewis and Colorado Christian's Brian Stamer were named to the first-team all-RMAC. Jura, Shephard, Stamer, Atwater and Williamson were named first-team all-East Division. Muth, Brandon Butler of Regis, Marcus Ligons of Chadron State, Mines' Ian Elseth and Nebraska-Kearney's James Lane were named second-team all-East Division.

Williamson is averaging 17.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.9 steals per game. The RMAC Preseason Defensive Player of the Year, he has been named the RMAC Player of the Week three times this season and leads the NCAA in steals. Muth, the RMAC leader in assist to turnover ratio, is averaging 11.0 points and 4.25 assists per game. He was also named the RMAC Player of the Week, Jan. 9. Bahl is averaging 11.2 points and 5.1 rebounds per game.

Metro State, 20-8 overall, faces No. 1-seed Fort Hays State in the semifinals of the RMAC Shootout at the Colorado State Fair Events Center in Pueblo, Colo., March 4 at noon.
