Roadrunners Defeat Minnesota Duluth In OT, 77-72

GOLDEN, COLO. -- Terrell Burgess scored 23 points to lead Metro State to a 77-72 overtime victory over Minnesota Duluth in the Metro State/Mines Classic, Saturday evening at Lockridge Arena.

Metro State outscored the Bulldogs in overtime, 10-5, including six of the first seven points in the extra period, to lead 73-68 with 1:42 remaining.

Marquise Carrington added 18 points, while Jesse Wagstaff had 10 points and seven boards for the Roadrunners. Jordan Nuness posted 29 points for UMD.

The Roadrunners had just five turnovers, a season low, in the contest, while Minnesota Duluth stayed in the game thanks to 11-for-24 three-point shooting.

Metro State led 34-31 at the half after shooting 65 percent (13-for-20) from the floor.

With the win, Metro State improves to 8-7 overall, while Minnesota Duluth falls to 7-8 overall. The Roadrunners host Western State, Jan. 5.
