No. 8-ranked Metro State Falls to Holy Family, 56-55, in Hawaii

HILO, HAWAII -- Ryan Haigh hit a jumper with six seconds remaining to lift Holy Family to a 56-55 upset of No. 6-ranked Metro State in the Hawaii-Hilo Shootout Friday night at Civic Auditorium.

The Roadrunners were led by Dustin Ballard with 12 points, while Hayden Smith and Drew Williamson each scored 11. Williamson added five assists, while Moussa Coulibaly pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds.

Metro State, which led by one at the half, committed 19 turnovers and shot just 37.5 percent (18-for-48) from the floor. The Roadrunners were also 0-for-8 from three-point land in the first half. Although they went 15-for-17 from the line in the game, the Roadrunners attempted just four free throws in the second half of the contest.

With the win, Holy Family improves to 2-1, while Metro State falls to 2-1. The Roadrunners play Hawaii-Hilo Saturday night at 7:30 p.m., Hawaii time (10:30 p.m., MST).
