DENVER, COLO. - Metro State's men are ranked No. 15 in the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) cross country preseason national poll, the organization announced Wednesday.

The national ranking is the Roadrunners' first cross country national ranking in program history. Metro State was also ranked No. 6 in the North Central Regional ranking released this week.

In the national poll, Abilene Christian is No. 1, followed by Adams State, Western State, Grand Valley State and Chico State. Colorado School of Mines is No. 7.

Metro State opens the 2007 cross country season at the University of Colorado Time Trial in Boulder, Colo., Sept. 1.
