Roadrunner Men Picked Seventh, Women Ninth In RMAC Preseason Track Polls
March 21, 2007 COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. - Metro State's men are picked to finish seventh, while the women are picked ninth in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference preseason outdoor track and field polls, released by the league office. Adams State was picked to win both the men's and women's titles. On the men's side, Western State was picked to finish second, followed by Chadron State, Nebraska-Kearney, Colorado School of Mines, UC-Colorado Springs and Metro State. In the women's poll, Chadron State was picked to finish second, followed by Western State, Nebraska-Kearney, Colorado School of Mines, UC-Colorado Springs, Mesa State, New Mexico Highlands and Metro State. The men's Preseason Track Athlete of the Year was Nick Lara of Adams State, while Heather Beresford of Colorado School of Mines is the women's pick. Lance Pfieffer of Nebraska-Kearney and TiaNiecia Mosley of Adams State are the Preseason Field Athletes of the Year. This is Metro State's first season with outdoor track. The Roadrunners, who will not have a field team, continue their spring season at the John Upton Invitational in Fort Collins, March 24.
