Tolentino Earns All-American Honors After Finishing Eighth at NCAA Championships

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Metro State's Todd Tolentino finished eighth in the 5000 meters, running a time of 14:27.63 at the NCAA Track and Field Championship, Saturday evening at the Irwin Belk Complex.

"I am tremendously proud of Todd," said Roadrunner head coach Pete Julian. "This is quite an accomplishment. He has a solid and bright future ahead. This was a great day for Metro State track."

With his eighth-place finish, Tolentino earned All-American honors and also scored one point for Metro State in the team competition. Chico State's Charlie Serrano won the 5000 meter race in a time of 14:08.12.

Abilene Christian won the men's team title with 105.5 points. Metro State tied for 52nd place with one point. Adams State finished fifth, while Western State tied for eighth place.
