Metro State No. 2 Seed, Women No. 5 Seed in RMAC Tournament
April 20, 2007 COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. - Metro State's men (13-8, 4-1 RMAC) are the No. 2 seed, while the women (2-22, 1-4) are the No. 5 seed in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference men's and women's tennis tournaments that begins Friday, the conference announced. In the men's tournament, Nebraska-Kearney (10-9, 5-0 RMAC) is the top seed. Both Nebraska-Kearney and Metro State earned a first-round bye with a top-two seed. The men's tournament opens Friday, April 20, with the quarterfinals beginning at 8 a.m. No. 6-seed Colorado Christian (0-9, 0-6) faces No. 3-seed Western New Mexico (10-4, 3-2), while No. 4-seed Mesa State (8-11, 2-3) takes on No. 5-seed CSU-Pueblo (5-15, 1-4). Metro State plays the winner of the No. 3/6 match at 1 p.m., Friday. The championship match is Saturday at 9 a.m. In the women's tournament, Metro State faces No. 4-seed CSU-Pueblo (7-11, 2-3) in the quarterfinals, Friday at 10:30 a.m. No. 3-seed Western New Mexico (9-7, 3-2) takes on No. 6-seed Colorado Christian (0-7, 0-5) in the other quarterfinal. The winner of the No. 4/5 matchup faces No. 1-seed Mesa State (11-7, 5-0), while the winner of No. 3/6 plays No. 2-seed Nebraska-Kearney (11-11, 4-1) in the semifinals at 3:30 p.m. The championship is Saturday at 9 a.m. All matches are at Pueblo City Park in Pueblo, Colo. Nebraska-Kearney (men) and CSU-Pueblo (women) won the RMAC tournament titles last season at Metro State.
