MARYVILLE, MO. -- Riley Meyer won two singles matches and the doubles team of Meyer and Ricky Stowell won a match at the ITA North Central Region Men's Championship, Sept. 29-Oct. 1, at Northwest Missouri State.

In singles action, Meyer defeated Kyle Savelkoul of Winona State, 6-3, 2-6, 1-0 (10-6), in his first match before beating Kyle Schlotz of Truman State, 6-2, 6-3. Into the round of 16, Meyer fell to Nathan Martin of Washburn, 6-4, 6-2.

Stowell, Mark Milner and Drew Machholz also won their first-round singles matches.

In doubles play, Meyer and Stowell defeated Meyer and Keith from Northwest Missouri State, 8-6, in the opening round before losing in the second round to the No. 2 seed from Southwest Baptist, 8-5. The No. 4 seed, Machholz and Milner, advanced to the second round with a bye but lost in their first match.

The ITA Championship was the last fall action for the Roadrunners and Metro State begins its season in the spring.
